Overall Requirements

Our Engineering Department is seeking an experienced, high-energy hardware engineer with a solid understanding of electronics. If you excel at thinking outside the box and are creative in solving seemingly unsolvable problems, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshoot complex systems, engaging in advanced problem-solving with limited to no documentation available.
  2. Develop, improve, and evaluate diagnostic and repair methods and test procedures for a wide range of legacy and new electronic products.
  3. Reverse-engineer medium to complex electronic boards, modules, and systems to develop improved testing capabilities.
  4. Use lab test equipment for advanced electronic measurements.
  5. Configure complex telecom systems.
  6. Automate tests and diagnostic processes.
  7. Develop in-circuit reprogramming methods.
  8. Identify solutions for component obsolescence, requiring creativity and imagination.
  9. Collaborate with procurement to determine product specifications.
  10. Facilitate production capabilities and processes.
  11. Write technical specifications, train test personnel, and present technical demos—helping others is critical to our success.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
Additional Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of electronic components, their functions, electrical parameters, and failure modes.
  • Strong knowledge of both legacy and current ICs, digital and analog, microcontrollers, interfaces, and protocols.
  • Effective troubleshooting of complex electronic PCBs in a lab environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic prototyping, design, and measurements.
  • Ability to develop and document diagnostics and test procedures.
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with the engineering team.
  • Experience in Defense projects is an asset.
  • Experience with Telecom systems is an asset.
  • RF troubleshooting experience is an asset.
  • LabVIEW development experience is an asset.
  • PCB Layout design experience is an asset.
