We are looking for a Hardware Designer to join our team in the Montreal office.
This position is based in Saint-Laurent.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform hardware design activities including electronic design, schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM creation, and PCB manufacturing package generation.
- Perform circuit level design and testing for both analog and digital circuitry (filter design, signal conditioning, optical/capacitive isolation, SMPS, current sensing, communication interfaces, microcontrollers, etc.).
- Experience with different communication protocols and physical layers (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
- Design test stations for product debug and verification.
- Select components (chips, passive & active components, power components, etc.).
- Plan and perform board bring-up and testing for PCBA.
- Prepare PCBA manufacturing package and support manufacturer.
- Maintain documentation and prepare test plans.
- Support the software development team on hardware-related tasks.
- Conduct and document investigations of hardware anomalies and failures.
- Stay up to date with recent technological advancements in electronics to apply to future product developments.
- Document the design, functionality, and tests related to product development.
- Adhere to health and safety rules (personal and equipment).
- Ensure scheduled deadlines are met and report risks, problems, and delays to the supervisor.
