Hardware Designer (Embedded)-Onsite Position

Your Challenge

  • Engineer, Design, Develop and Test new embedded hardware at the forefront of technology.
  • Support and enhance existing embedded hardware.
  • Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.
  • Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions, and develop the design.
  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
  • Provide input to architecture and design reviews.
  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.
  • Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge.
  • Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products.
  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Board level development and hands-on lab experience (Co-Op experience is applicable).
  • Experience/familiarity in the following is an asset:
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplined team.
  • Familiar with a product development process.
  • Familiar with hardware test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.
  • Design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics).
  • Requirements capture, analysis, and tracking.
  • Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino.
  • Familiarity with FPGAs.
  • A passion for following the latest trends in the world of computing.
  • A driven and motivated self-starter with a keen interest to learn.
  • A strong understanding of electronics and engineering principles and application to real-world use.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds themselves accountable, takes ownership of responsibilities, and champions process improvement initiatives.
