Job summary

Royal York Property Management is seeking a dependable Handyworker to travel to residential rental properties in Grimsby, Ontario, and perform a range of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation tasks. You will use our mobile work app to manage appointments, update completed work, and capture inspection photos.

The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, owning your tools and a reliable vehicle, and the ability to work independently with basic English communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently
• Must have your own reliable vehicle
• Must have your own tools and equipment required for general maintenance work
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting updates
• Basic English communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance
• Install and remove lockboxes
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors and other common fixtures
• Assemble and install household items when required
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary
• Use mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle

This role involves travelling to residential rental properties to complete a wide variety of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation tasks. Every day is different, and you’ll work independently while using our mobile work app to manage appointments and update completed work.

What You’ll Do

Mandatory Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in residential property maintenance
• Experience completing inspections and documenting repairs
• Broad knowledge of common household maintenance and repairs
• Ability to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
