Job summary

Royal York Property Management in Welland, Ontario seeks dependable handyworkers for on-call maintenance across residential properties. Travel between sites using your own vehicle and manage tasks via our mobile work app.

You will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation duties with minimal supervision. Minimum 2 years of related experience, own tools and smartphone, basic English, and GPS-friendly availability are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience.
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have own reliable vehicle.
• Must have own tools and equipment for general maintenance work.
• Must have own suitable smartphone capable of GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting updates.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work.
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Install and remove lockboxes.
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures.
• Assemble and install household items when required.
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports.
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary.
• Use the mobile work app to receive work orders and update job statuses.
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle.

Royal York Property Management is one of Canada’s leading property management companies, managing thousands of residential rental properties across Ontario. We are looking for dependable, skilled Handyworkers to join our growing network of maintenance professionals.

This role involves travelling to residential rental properties to complete a wide variety of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation tasks. Every day is different, and you’ll work independently while using our mobile work app to manage appointments and update completed work.

What You’ll Do

Mandatory Requirements

• Must have your own reliable vehicle
• Must have your own tools and equipmentrequired for general maintenance work
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of using GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates
• Basic English communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in residential property maintenance
• Experience completing inspections and documenting repairs
• Broad knowledge of common household maintenance and repairs
• Ability to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
