Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman (Subcontractor) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, minor repairs, painting, and building upkeep. This role helps ensure the building operates efficiently while maintaining a comfortable, secure, and compliant environment for tenants, staff, and visitors. We are looking for someone to visit our buildings and perform maintenance and repairs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Change light bulbs and repair exit signs
Repair drywall, including patching and painting interior and exterior surfaces
Replace carpet tiles and repair gates, cages, and locks
Refinish wood surfaces (doors, chairs, cabinets)
Fix door closers, cabinets, door handles, chairs, and other small fixtures
Assist janitorial contractors with cleaning pool tiles, windows, and walls
Power wash exterior walkways (springtime)
Clean and maintain rooftops, patios, and exterior finishes
Wash exterior windows using a pressure washer and extension poles
Report deficiencies and concerns
Address minor leaks in water supply lines or stop leaks at the source
Remove bins, scrub/disinfect floors, and replace bins as needed
Inspect fire safety systems, trouble lights, and alarms
Maintain an inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies
Monitor and maintain proper chemical balance in the swimming pool
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward residents, staff, and tradespeople
Keep a logbook of daily tasks performed
Drive a company van with supplies and equipment
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent)
Experience with general maintenance, painting, and repair work
Knowledge of and ability to operate power washers and leaf blowers
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Experience with minor electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs
Proficient in English for effective communication
Strong troubleshooting skills across a variety of maintenance issues
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

$30.00 – $40.00 per hour
Experience:
Handyman / Building Manager: 5 years (preferred)
