Job summary

Kepler Communications in Toronto is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to contribute to satellite on-board software, IoT modules, and ground equipment. You will engage in real-time, embedded development and work across on-board and ground systems.

You'll design and test software, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with hardware and operations teams. This on-site internship starts January 2027 for 4 months, offering mentorship and exposure to cutting-edge space technology.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded systems and real-time concepts.
• Currently enrolled in a Computer Science or equivalent degree program.
• Strong software design, debugging, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in C/C++, with embedded concepts and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto, FreeRTOS, and Embedded Linux (user-space).
• Excellent communication and Git proficiency.
• Returning to studies after the internship; available for a January 2027 start for 4 months.
• On-site in Toronto (24 Ward Street) for the internship.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for satellites' on-board systems and embedded Linux.
• Write tests and documentation; participate in design/code reviews.
