Kepler Communications is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for spacecraft and ground assets. You will impact design choices and system reliability while delivering secure, high-quality embedded code for a growing satellite fleet.

Qualifications include 6+ years in embedded software, a CS/EE degree, strong C/C++ skills, and experience with embedded Linux or RTOS and Yocto/OpenEmbedded. Relocation support is available for approved roles and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing embedded software for complex, high-reliability systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including system design, debugging, testing, performance analysis, and maintainable code development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, including concurrency, interrupt handling, memory-mapped peripherals, and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN.
• Experience with embedded Linux and RTOS environments, build systems like Yocto/OpenEmbedded, and OSs such as FreeRTOS.
• Experience developing low-level embedded Linux components including kernel modules and device drivers.
• Experience building automated tests, validation tooling, or integration test environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication across software, hardware, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for spacecraft and ground-based systems across a growing satellite fleet.
• Implement secure communications capabilities including encryption, authentication, and key exchange.
• Develop and maintain low-level components like device drivers and kernel modules.
• Create automated tests, validation tools, and documentation to support robust software delivery.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure quality.
