Job summary

Northern Lights School Division No is hiring a School Based Support/ Hall Monitor at La Loche - Dene High School to help students arrive on time, remain in class, and support a safe, respectful learning environment. The role requires strong communication, confidentiality and cross-cultural awareness, with duties including escorting students, de-escalation, and daily record keeping.

You will work closely with teachers, administrators and student support staff to promote student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to maintain a positive and patient approach in classroom settings.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in student information.
• Demonstrated cross-cultural experience and sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to be in class on time and remain in class for the full period.
• Address disruptive student behaviours & speak with students in a supportive way.
• Accompany students to time out space, de-escalation space, administration office, etc.
• Debrief with student support workers, social workers and administration daily.
• Keep accurate records and daily log of activities.
