Justice for Women Review Team Coordinator
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Coordination of the H&N Justice for Women Review Team
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate meetings (monthly and one annual meeting) of the Haldimand and Norfolk Justice for Women Review team.
- Assist in creation and revision of Partner Assault Protocols for member agencies which outline the services and guidelines offered by agencies to women who have experienced violence in our community.
- Complete outreach to employers/workplaces, salons, and the community regarding the Sisters in Spirit Campaign, Neighbours, Friends and Families Program, Make it Our Business Workplace Domestic Violence Program, and the Cut it Out program which trains salon professionals on how to recognize and respond to concerns a client or coworker is experiencing abuse.
- Provide presentations to workplaces, salons, local agencies, and the community regarding the Justice for Women Review team as well as the programs mentioned above.
- Development and delivery of Train the Trainer resources related to J4WRT projects.
- Participate as part of the design team of the Building a Bigger Wave provincial VAW network.
- Coordinate events, workshops, and public events.
- Coordinate the graphic design of printed resources and distribution.
- Maintain the J4WRT Website.
- Participate in inter-agency committees/task forces as appropriate.
- Participate in regular supervision.
- Provide monthly updates to the team regarding activities of the coordinator.
- Prepare annual MCSS funding applications and reports in addition to project/grant applications and reports.
- Ensure women in our community are receiving the best possible service in regard to domestic violence by making all forms of review the team can complete accessible and determining new ways of monitoring services when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Sciences, Women’s Studies, or related field.
- Public speaking skills.
- Ability to perform within a woman-centered organization which bases its services on a feminist analysis of woman abuse.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with community social services, medical and justice systems, and other relevant services.
- Ability to function as part of an effective team.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
21 hours bi-weekly. $27.39 starting wage.
