Hairstylist / Barber

We are seeking a skilled Barber to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for hair styling and providing excellent customer service in a professional salon environment.

Responsibilities

• Suggest a hairstyle compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair.
• Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
• May shampoo and rinse hair.
• May perform receptionist duties and order supplies.
• May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices, and barbers.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Barber with 3 or more years expertise in various hair cutting techniques
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent communication skills to understand client requests and provide appropriate recommendations
• Knowledge of retail sales practices to promote and sell hair care products
• Completion of secondary school (high school) education.
• Completion of a hair styling certification program with on-the-job training.
