Job Details

Hairstylist

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.

Responsibilities

• Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences.
• Shampoo customers' hair.
• Provide other hair treatments, such as waving, straightening, and tinting, and also provide scalp conditioning massages.
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• Apply hair extensions.
• Clean and style wigs and hair pieces.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• Suggest hairstyles compatible with client's physical features and preferences.

Hair Styling Techniques

• Blow drying.
• Iron waving/curling.
• Permanents.
• Extensions.
• Roller setting.

Hair Colouring Techniques

• Bleach.
• Dyes/tints.
• Streaking/highlights.

Experience

2 years to less than 3 years.

Personal Suitability

• Efficient interpersonal skills.
• Team player.
