Job summary

Career Junction in Saskatchewan is seeking a qualified hair stylist/barber to join our team. You will advise clients on beauty treatments, cut and trim hair, provide scalp and hair treatments, and perform styling, colouring and extensions as needed.

Responsibilities include supervising other stylists and apprentices, handling receptionist duties, maintaining supplies, and delivering excellent customer service. Required: barbering and hairstylist certifications and 1–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in hair styling.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on beauty care treatments.
• Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences.
• Provide custom hair and scalp treatment.
• Shampoo customers' hair.
• Shave and trim beards and mustaches.
• Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages.
• Supervise other hair stylists and other staff.
• Supervise apprentices/students in training.
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair.
• Apply hair extensions.
• Clean and style wigs and hair pieces.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair.
• Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences.
• Perform receptionist duties.
• Maintain and order supplies.
