Overview

Course number and title: MIE1214H – Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics

Course description: The course is designed for students with no or little CFD knowledge who want to learn CFD applications to solve engineering problems. The course provides a general perspective of CFD and its applications to fluid flow and heat transfer and teaches the use of popular CFD packages. Students will learn basics of CFD and will use that basic knowledge to learn Fluent/ANSYS CFD software. The software learning is not the objective of this class and it will be used as a tool to teach concepts in a practical framework.

Appointment details

Sessional dates: January to April 2026

Salary: $15,000 (per half course inclusive of vacation pay). If rates in the collective agreement vary from those stated, the collective agreement rate prevails.
