A provincial mental health facility is seeking a Nurse 4A to deliver comprehensive nursing care to youth facing emotional and psychiatric challenges. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse or psychiatric nurse with at least one year of experience, skilled in direct patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This full-time position requires shift work in a 24-hour facility, located in Coquitlam, British Columbia. The role offers a salary range of $72,751 - $107,808 annually.
The Team
The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a program of the Provincial Services Division within the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Maples is a designated provincial mental health facility providing on-site community outreach and ancillary services to collaboratively support youth, families, and communities. The target population includes troubled youth in British Columbia aged twelve (12) to seventeen (17) with significant psychiatric, behavioral, or emotional difficulties, as well as youth found Not Criminally Responsible by Reason of Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or Unfit to Stand Trial under the Criminal Code of Canada and Youth Criminal Justice Act. Additional services include community consultation, training/capacity building opportunities, and ongoing sharing of current literature. Our multidisciplinary approach aims to enhance community capacity to care for challenging youth closer to home.

Under the direction of a Shift Supervisor or Program Coordinator, the Nurse 4A performs vital work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct, comprehensive nursing care to clients at The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre.
