About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You will analyze sales data, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize store performance and profits.


A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same. A typical day includes the following responsibilities:

Customer Sales & Profit

  • Ensure the total omni customer experience, from visual merchandising to customer service, aligned with store format, global guidelines, and regional strategies.
  • Represent the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
  • Analyze sales and budget goals, and develop plans to meet or exceed them.
  • Provide excellent customer service, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively promoting products.
  • Promote the Customer Loyalty App and in-store sustainability initiatives.
  • Plan schedules in line with sales targets and commercial activities.
  • Maintain routines in fitting rooms and checkouts, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Identify commercial opportunities, maintain competitor awareness, and act on store strengths and opportunities.
  • Manage store maintenance efficiently.
  • Handle all administrative routines related to people and operations correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
  • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge to customers.
  • Understand the local market, customer preferences, and fashion trends.

Team & Development

  • Manage talent recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Support team retention and share knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with the area team and store leadership, including visual merchandisers.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the team.
  • Plan and schedule team activities.
  • Conduct regular communication to motivate and inform staff.
  • Ensure procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs.

Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution

  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and back of house.
  • Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation, with proper garment care.
  • Manage stock levels and contribute to allocation decisions.
  • Support daily store routines, including opening and closing.
  • Oversee the full garment cycle, from delivery to presentation, following standards and utilizing tools.
  • Maintain in-store OMNI services and technology tools, such as the Care App and Click & Collect.
  • Ensure consistent pricing signage throughout the store, aligned with strategies.
  • Keep BOH areas tidy and informative, adhering to health and safety standards.
