Job description

Job Title: DZ Driver

Pay: $22/hr

Shifts: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Ottawa, ON

We're actively seeking a DZ Driver with 2 years of experience to operate various trucks and other equipment for extended periods of time, over short distances, between company facilities or yards or between company facilities and customer/vendor sites to pick up, transport, and deliver freight. This position requires lifting and loading products ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during work hours; and pushing/pulling using from 40 - 150 pounds of force, occasionally. It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering products. Unloads pallets of product from the delivery vehicle with an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck, and puts the product in a designated area.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of materials from trucks.
• Verifying that quantities of materials for delivery are correct.
• Verifying delivery instructions, routes, and timing from supervisor.
• Maintaining logs as required.
• Reporting vehicle service, defects, or repair status.
• Reporting of any accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle or delivered products.
• Interaction with customer and vendor personnel on work/job sites.
• Willingness to assist in other warehousing or inventory activities as requested.
• Prompt return to paperwork and other materials.

Qualifications

• Valid DZ License a must.
• Good Driving Record.
• Basic reading, writing, math skills.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Following instructions to put products in the properly designated area.
