Job summary

Prestige Oceanview Hotel in Prince Rupert, BC is seeking a Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor (full-time or part-time). You will welcome guests, handle check-ins/outs, and manage reservations.

You will operate the telephone, balance daily postings, and ensure security and guest satisfaction. Ideal candidate has strong communication, is willing to work day and night shifts (11 PM – 7 AM), and is legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Front desk experience is an asset but not required.
• Must be willing to work both day shifts & night audits (11 PM – 7 AM).
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional guest services.
• Utilizes instinctive upselling techniques and negotiate rates to maximize revenue and occupancy levels.
• Maintains order and cleanliness at the front desk.
• Handles guest accounts.
• Assists guests on arrival, departure and during their stay.
• Operates the telephone console.
• Processes reservation and cancellation requests.
• Post room and tax.
• Perform food and beverage audit if required.
• Reconcile postings, charges and cash for the day.
• Balance all summaries to main computer system.
• Balance all cashiers’ postings for the day.
• Post any incidental charges required.
• Prepare all required daily and summary reports.
• Perform back up of computer system.
• Maintains guest security and safety measures.
• Report all system problems to management.
• Balance all outlets summaries to the main computer.
• Recognize trends in the outlets and room revenue.
• Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager.

What does an ideal candidate look like?

• Must be willing to work both day shifts & Night Audit shifts (11 PM – 7 AM)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must have strong written and verbal skills
• Front desk experience is an asset but NOT required
• Must be willing to get Basic First Aid
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
