Guest Services Agent

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ottawa Kanata is currently looking for a Guest Services Agent. The primary responsibility of the Guest Service Agent is to provide our hotel guests with a positive first and last impression, as well as provide them with exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Service Agent will:

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor with guests and team members;
  • Comply with all company and brand standards;
  • Interact with guests during check-in and check-out;
  • Create and cancel reservations, handle check-in and check-out procedures;
  • Greet all incoming and outgoing calls professionally;
  • Review logbook and emails daily, complete all tasks on the checklist;
  • Operate Front Desk telephones and be familiar with daily rates;
  • Balance and prepare shift paperwork according to hotel standards;
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments;
  • Handle guest registration, room assignments, and special requests;
  • Process check-ins/check-outs in line with credit and cash policies;
  • Resolve customer complaints and assist with inquiries about hotel services, events, directions, attractions, and other guest needs;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

What We Are Looking For...

  • Customer Service experience, preferably at a hotel front desk;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Computer literacy in Word and Excel; experience with FOSSE PMS is an asset;
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and able to work in a busy environment;
  • Self-motivated, able to problem-solve, initiate, and complete tasks independently;
  • Friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, professional appearance;
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
