The Guest Service Representative (GSR) is the Wickaninnish Inn’s version of a Front Desk Agent, with added responsibilities. The GSR greets guests, checks them in, and acts as their personal contact during their stay. The role offers flexibility and the chance to positively impact guest experiences, including handling reservations and assisting guests upon arrival.

The Reservations Agent collaborates with the Reservations Supervisor to manage all room reservations. This position is available year-round and for co-op/internship placements (May – October).

Responsibilities & Qualifications

As a Guest Service Representative/Reservations Agent, you will:

  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service, meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes Standards.
  • Take and process reservation calls.
  • Respond to email inquiries and manage online bookings.
  • Facilitate group rooming list entry and maintain reservation accuracy.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining reservation files and operational paperwork.
  • Check guests in and out, and welcome them upon arrival.
  • Provide guest orientation and deliver amenities.
  • Handle inquiries about the Inn’s services via phone, email, or in person.
  • Complete Guest Service and Concierge-related tasks.

The ideal candidate will embody the West Coast culture, demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence, and possess:

  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional guest service skills and a desire to exceed expectations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and calm demeanor.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Service Industry or 1 year in a high-end luxury setting.
  • Reservations or Guest Service experience is an asset.
  • Completion of a 2-year college program in Hotel Management/Front Desk Operations or equivalent is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Maestro, Epitome, Online booking systems (e.g., Synxis), Pro Salon, Word, Excel is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with at least two years of clean driving experience.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing innovative ideas to improve the Front Office department.
  • Ability to commit to the position for an agreed-upon period.

Salary/Wage: $20.00 per hour as Guest Service Representative and $21.00 per hour as Reservations Agent. Financial incentives are available based on commitment length.
