Job description

Guest Service Coordinator

Elmhirst’s Resort is an all season, cottage resort and conference/wedding facility located on Rice Lake, (approximately 25 minutes from Peterborough). The guest service coordinator is the first point of contact for our guests. Creating a friendly and professional environment, while possessing great communication skills with guests, departments, other team members is a must along with a genuine desire to exceed guests’ expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Providing courteous and efficient telephone and in person services
  • Creating a variety of reservations via telephone, email reservations, correspondence and in person
  • Making new cottage and restaurant reservations as required on separate platforms
  • Adjusting guests reservations as required
  • Collecting & maintaining information on the Resort and surrounding area
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages, and general information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reports to the Senior Rooms Division Leader
  • Responsible for opening the office when working the AM shiftand resort audit when working PM shift
  • Handling cash and credit card transactions effectively and accurately to properly take payments in person and via telephone
  • Ensuring the safety and well being of our guests and co-workers by maintaining a knowledge of crisis and emergency procedures
  • Creating a professional environment and exceptional guest experiences
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience in guest relations

  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Working shifts as business levels dictate
  • Highly responsible & reliable

Pay / Hours:

  • Starting at $19.00 per hour
  • Approximately 35 hours per week consisting of variety of days/evenings, weekdays/weekends and holiday shifts
