As one of Canada's premier music venues, the Francis Winspear Centre for Music provides musical experiences rooted in creativity, imagination, and excellence. We emphasize the importance of live experiences, hosting music groups and individuals of all abilities, anchored by our resident artists, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1997, the Winspear Centre has been a cornerstone of Edmonton’s Arts District, welcoming 250,000 visitors annually for musical performances, rehearsals, literary events, meetings, receptions, graduations, and educational programs. Job Summary:

The Guest Experience Manager leads the Guest Services Team to maintain the patron experience that the Winspear is known for. This is achieved by exceptional leadership, communication, and effective motivation skills.

What you will do:

  1. Lead and manage a dynamic team of part-time staff to execute excellence in guest experience during Winspear Centre and ESO concerts and events.
  2. Hire, train, schedule, lead, and manage the team of part-time staff.
  3. Act as the event lead.
  4. Align the Winspear Centre Values, Vision, and Strategic Priorities throughout the team, so that they are showcased in every aspect of our service and experience provided to patrons, stakeholders, volunteers, clients, and community.
  5. Collaborate with the Guest Experience management team to plan strategic initiatives that align with the business plan and the future state of the organization.
  6. Strengthen relationships internally and externally.
  7. Ensure events preparations are completed and executed as planned.
  8. Support with concession inventory.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Arts, Music, Arts & Cultural Management, Human Resources or other relevant Education.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service with supervisory experience.
  3. A minimum of 3 years of experience with event management.
  4. Effective leader to motivate and inspire diverse individuals.
  5. Able to adapt with timelines, daily priorities, events, and staffing needs.
  6. Competent in Microsoft Office and/or SharePoint.
  7. Proficiency using software programs including Artifax, StaffSavvy, SalesVu, Square, and Tessitura is an asset.
  8. ProServe certified.
  9. Able to work daytime, evening, and weekends as required.
  10. A clear criminal record check.
  11. Detail-oriented.
  12. Organized.
  13. Time Management.
  14. Adaptable.
