Job description

What will be your daily pursuit?

The Guest Experience Department principally assists all guests by providing information on Columbia Icefield and Pursuit, services and amenities; by promoting and selling all of our related products and services, and ensuring a seamless experience for guests throughout their experience.Guest Experience Agents come across a variety of guests everyday from all over the world so being upbeat and professional while up to date on all Pursuit products and processes is key. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are a must especially as this particular position will be within our Groups Check In Office.

The Cash Control position plays a major supporting role to the Guest Experience team as well as cash out support to all lines of business at the Columbia Icefield. They routinely prepare deposits, tip outs, financial reports and ensure all financial records are accurate and reported in a timely manner to our corporate offices. They foster a professional and service-oriented relationship with our wholesale partners and internal lines of business. This role requires a self-motivator who can work without direct supervision and is patient and eager to collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and learn as a team.

What will your compensation be?

The starting salary for this position is $18.00 per hour

This is job is posted as part of our seasonal hiring for Summer 2025 and will begin as soon as possible until October 13, 2025

What will you do in this job?
  • Educating guests on Columbia Icefield experiences and guiding them through the check in process
  • Assisting with tour group check-in, and coordinating with Dispatch regarding any changes
  • Coordinating guests and tour groups on/off Coaches and/or Ice Explorers
  • Operating the point-of-sale system with accuracy and efficiency, including responsible handling of cash, credit cards, and cash out forms
  • Reconciliation of daily cash outs for all lines of business at the Columbia Icefield – Ticket Sales, multiple F&B Outlets, Retail – verifying against reports from multiple sales systems and processors
  • Preparation of daily deposits and tip outs
  • Troubleshooting transactions, discrepancies and correcting any errors while also reporting variances and abnormalities
  • Auditing cash, credit card and billing transactions and verifying group orders to ensure accuracy
  • Corresponding with Banff Cash Control and Wholesalers to supply receipts and billing/audit reports
  • Preparation of financial reports and creating accurate and up to date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures
  • Managing float inventories in safe and cash recycler
  • Communicating with co-workers and management, forwarding observations and comments in a timely fashion
  • Uphold the high standard of environmental stewardship expected for all employees
  • Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
  • Organization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest and employee is the most important aspect of this position!
  • Proven strength in problem solving, conflict resolution, attention to detail and ability to make decisions independently and with a positive attitude
  • Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated
  • Experience with RTP, Simphony, Retail Pro, Eigen and CI server for cash recycler an asset
  • Previous cash handling and point of sale system experience, an asset
  • Accounting experience is an asset
  • Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
  • Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards
