Job summary

SSP Canada operates more than 30 restaurants throughout Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Food Service Associate role emphasizes delivering excellent customer experiences by efficiently handling transactions, serving guests, and maintaining a welcoming dining atmosphere according to company standards.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, following recipes, managing kitchen setup, processing orders in the POS, handling cash, and rotating stock.

Qualifications

• One year experience in food service environment is strongly preferred.
• Smart Serve certification is an asset
• Previous experience at Tim Hortons is an asset
• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication is essential
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests
• Ability to read, speak, and understand French is an asset
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & POS procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods

Responsibilities

• Understand that our guest is our #1 priority.
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present items.
• Maintain proper and adequate setup of the kitchen/station daily.
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
