Guest Attendants report to the Health and Wellness Manager and provide residents with physical and personal care needs to a high-quality standard and with sensitivity.

This position offers part-time hours on the night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities :

1. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to the care plan,
2. Medication Administration according to relevant legislative requirements and organizational policies and procedures,
3. Provide general housekeeping, laundry, and recreational activities,
4. Display spontaneity and the ability to positively adapt to changing situations for residents,
5. Monitor residents’ well-being, report changes to the supervisor, and respond to medical emergencies,
6. Thoroughly document Activities of Daily Living (ADLs),
7. Ensure the health and safety of all individuals within the home by following procedures and protocols,
8. Assist with dining services,
9. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, including medication records,
10. Interact courteously with team members, residents, families, and visitors,
11. Provide emergency first aid and care until appropriate medical assistance arrives,
12. Assist with resident admissions and discharges when required,
13. Complete medication administration training,
14. Assist with the administration of medication to residents,
15. Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications :

The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows :

• PSW or Health Care Aide Certification preferred,
• Experience in retirement or long-term care preferred,
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory,
• Empathy and understanding for the needs of seniors,
• Good understanding of nursing, health, and wellness processes,
• Willingness to update knowledge on changing regulations and practices,
• Skills contributing to diversity and inclusivity,
• Physical and mental ability to perform duties,
• Organizational and time-management skills,
• Ability to work well individually and in a team,
• Effective oral and written communication skills,
• Clear vulnerable sector screening (within last 6 months), recent TB test or Chest X-ray (within last year), and two supervisory references are required.
