Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing:

You will be a valued member of the Retirement team at XXXXX, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Guest Attendant, you’ll develop a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with residents and their families, offering support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. You will contribute to creating a positive culture focused on helping residents live fully, every day.

The Guest Attendant reports to the Director of Wellness and supports activities of daily living and housekeeping as assigned, while providing exceptional customer service. This role may also assist with recreation programs across various locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing, according to individual care plans
  • Answering call bells and door alarms promptly and courteously
  • Transporting residents to and from their rooms, activities, and dining areas
  • Completing laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Dealing tactfully with residents and families, reporting concerns to supervisors
  • Practicing safe food handling during food preparation and service
  • Participating in resident admission and transfer processes
  • Collaborating with other staff and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicating issues related to resident care or safety to the Director of Wellness
  • Completing engagement activities and maintaining personal grooming and uniform standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe environment following infection control principles
  • Participating in emergency drills and education sessions
  • Adhering to health and safety policies, including the use of PPE
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have ‘Safe Serve’ designation and at least one year of dining room service experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current CPR certification; guest attendant training recommended
  • Experience with seniors and knowledge of aging processes
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills

Education:

Minimum grade 12 education.
