GENERAL SUMMARY

To perform duties relevant to the processing of shipments in accordance with Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Educational Requirements

Post Secondary: Community College Diploma/Equivalent

Professional accreditation/certification

Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified

Related Experience Requirements

Minimum of one year experience (FedEx preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to International Operations.

Other specific mandatory experience requirements

• Maintain CCS designation and achieve annual re-currency points.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment, especially at ports: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX.
• In Quebec, bilingual in English and French.

Technical Skill Requirements

Solid knowledge of:

• Mathematical and computer aptitude.
• Customs rules and regulations.

Computer literacy and proficiency:

• Knowledge of clearance systems preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing preferred.

Additional Details

Must reside in a Western port. Remote night shift position, Sun-Thurs 2100-0530.
