Job summary

METRO in the GTA Ontario is seeking a District Relief Pharmacist to provide direct patient care and supervise dispensing activities across multiple locations. The role requires ensuring compliance, managing inventory, and supporting pharmacy services while traveling to partner stores.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc. Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program)
• Licensure: Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Certifications: Injection certified and Smoking Cessation certified; registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Proficient with PC systems, MS Office and pharmacy software (Kroll)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Organizational skills; time management and punctuality
• Customer service mindset and ability to handle feedback constructively
• Initiative to identify tasks and work independently

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications and provide patient counseling
• Manage dispensary orders and pharmacy services
• Operate within expanded scope of pharmacy practice
• Collaborate with health care professionals to support patient care
• Supervise pharmacy staff in absence of Pharmacy Manager
• Ensure pharmacy opening/closing per hours of operation
• Maintain recall procedures and manage shrink; inventory controls
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues
• Handle cash register operations and store standards
