Job summary

Ascend is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our Sundre, Alberta team. You will perform full-cycle bookkeeping for diverse clients, maintain accurate records, assist with payroll, GST/HST and year-end information, with support from experienced team members.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, strong attention to detail, comfort with technology, and a client-service mindset. Training is provided to develop skills and grow within Ascend.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years bookkeeping or accounting experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with technology and learning new systems.
• Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback and continue developing skills.
• Strong communication and client-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support and perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client financial records.
• Prepare and organize year-end information.
• Assist with payroll and related government remittances.
• Prepare GST/HST.
