Job summary

Trans Tank Systems, a Canadian manufacturer and service provider specializing in tank trucks, pumping systems, hydraulics, custom fabrication, pneumatic and metering systems, and related equipment, is seeking a Controller.

You will own the accounting and financial management function while helping shape how the role evolves over time. This on-site role is based primarily at our Kinburn facility, with occasional travel to Belleville to support operations and leadership.

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred; combination of education and significant accounting experience considered.
• Five years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, ideally in manufacturing or an operational environment.
• Experience managing general ledger, monthly financial reporting, year-end preparation, payroll, sales tax compliance, and transactional accounting.
• Strong financial analysis skills to investigate profitability/margin concerns and identify causes.
• Experience with job costing, inventory, work in progress, or project-based accounting is a strong asset.
• Strong Excel and accounting-system skills; interest in improving financial tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting cycle and financial reporting.
• Lead the monthly close and prepare timely monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Prepare year-end working papers and coordinate with external accountants.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and other transactional accounting activities.
• Complete or oversee HST filings and other required financial and government reporting.
• Manage payroll administration and related reconciliations and remittances.
• Monitor cash flow and support banking and working-capital management.
• Analyze financial results and explain variances, trends, and risks.
• Strengthen job costing and reporting on margins by product, project, service, and location.
• Support pricing, quoting, purchasing, inventory, labour utilization with reliable financial information.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and management reports; identify process improvements.
