Groups Ministry Assistant

Job Purpose

This role will assist the groups pastor with administrative tasks that help develop, empower and supporting the various groups at Sherwood Park Alliance Church. The groups ministry assistant will help connect and support our people towards our Group Goals as part of our Groups Pathway providing administrative support, communications and data analysis.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Update our group resources page, webpage, and group newsletter.
  2. Maintain and organize groups calendar, database, bookings, events, and group communications.
  3. Assist with navigating and placing new and ongoing members into new and existing groups.
  4. Assist in providing administrative support to our group facilitator and leader volunteers.
  5. Assist volunteers leaders and facilitators to receive ongoing support and care.
  6. Active participation in staff chapels, staff meetings, and group team meetings.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, ensuring groups scheduling do not impede with other ministry schedules, bookings, and events.
  8. Provide administrative assistance and support coordinating ministry with a team of volunteers for Baptisms, Alpha & Connection Groups.
  9. Active participation in the Admin Team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related administrative experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Gifting in administration and data management.
  • Dynamic and collaborative team player.
  • Comfortable using PC, MS, Office, database, media, and various other software tools.

Additional Requirements

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Completion of Abuse Prevention Training.
  • Will adhere to the policies and procedures of the Staff Handbook.
  • Membership, or working towards Membership, of Sherwood Park Alliance Church.
