Role Description

The Group Product Manager of Money Movement reports to the Director, Money Movement and is part of the Everyday Banking Products team in Canadian Personal Banking. This role is responsible to manage the portfolio of innovative money movement products for retail customers, including eCommerce, real time and new emerging payments.

The Group Product Manager develops and implements product strategies to drive sales of existing banking products, launch new products to market, optimize profitability and improve the customer experience. This role demands product management acumen, having E2E responsibility of the product portfolio, from the ideation, implementation, development, and launch. The Group Product Manager has relevant experience dealing with multidisciplinary teams and with strategic partners. This leader brings innovation into the money movement portfolio, carries out competitive analysis, monitors product performance, and assesses problems to develop and implement solutions. Also has P&L accountability, having deep analysis and understanding of forecasting, while managing product risks.

The Group Product Manager collaborates with members of the Everyday Banking Products team, and with internal partners, such as Customer and Product Analytics, Marketing, Digital, Fraud, Compliance, Technology, Operations and Payment Modernization. This leader also has great responsibility to manage and build strong relationships with strategic partners. The role also involves exploration of new payment trends worldwide and initiatives with external partners, such as fintech.

Key Accountabilities

  • Product Strategy
  • Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the portfolio of products
  • Develop the overall strategy and roadmap to improve capabilities and launch new products
  • Establish priorities and drive the evolution of capabilities with key partners
  • Product Management
  • Lead the implementation of complex projects with large multi-functional teams, through ideation, requirements, implementation and change management
  • Monitor progress against project plans to ensure completion
  • Proactively solve issues and eliminate obstacles
  • Secure the launch of new products and/or new features to existing products and provide improvements accordingly
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams as well as partner relationship
  • P&L and Risk Management
  • Explain financial results and forecast future performance
  • Drive actions to improve profitability through data-driven decisions
  • Manage risk, and support the evolution of policies, procedures, and controls


Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • +5 years of experience in retail product management, in banking and/or telecommunications and/or management consulting
  • Strong expertise in product management, product strategy and project delivery
  • In depth Profit & Loss acumen, proven expertise in business casing, forecasting product revenues and costs, as well as risk management


Skills

  • Proven project management and change management skills
  • Highly developed relationship skills, building strong connexions and cross-functional links with internal colleagues and third party partners

Salary:

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. BMO also offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
