Job summary

The YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador in Bonavista is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to deliver high quality, group fitness classes for a range of ages and abilities at the Bonavista Regional YMCA. You will ensure a safe, positive member experience and lead dryland classes as needed.

Applicants should be 16+, hold a YMCA Fitness certification or equivalent, have prior group fitness experience, and be available for flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current YMCA Fitness certification or industry equivalent.
• Previous experience as a group fitness instructor.
• Available for flexible shifts including early morning, evenings and weekends.
• Standard First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality group fitness classes for a variety of ages and abilities.
• Provide a safe and positive experience for members during classes.
• Lead dryland classes as required at the Bonavista Regional YMCA.

We are seeking Group Fitness Instructors to deliver high quality, group fitness classes for a variety of ages and abilities. You will be responsible to provide an overall safe and positive experience for members. This position will be physically demanding, requiring you to lead dryland classes. This position is located at the Bonavista Regional YMCA.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Current YMCA Fitness certification or industry equivalent
• Previous experience as a group fitness instructor
• Available to work flexible shifts, including early morning, evenings and weekends
• Standard First Aid and CPR
• Criminal Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Checks are reviewed on an individual basis
