Job summary

A well-established firm in the construction sector seeks a Group Controller to join their leadership team in Vaughan, Ontario. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial operations for multiple entities and managing a team of 10 professionals. The ideal candidate will have a CPA designation and over 10 years of experience in accounting/finance leadership, particularly in multi-entity environments. Responsibilities include financial reporting, M&A activities, budgeting, and cash flow management. Candidates will have a strong background in strategic decision-making and a proven ability to enhance financial processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance leadership roles.
• Strong experience in multi-entity environments and consolidations.
• Proven track record supporting or leading M&A transactions and integrations.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial operations across multiple entities.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy.
• Partner with the CFO on M&A activities, including due diligence and financial modeling.
• Monitor working capital, including receivables, payables, and project cash cycles.
