Position Title: Group Collections and Commissions Specialist
Reports To: Manager, Group Collection and Commissions
Department:
Group Actuarial
Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Group Collections and Commissions Specialist for our Group Actuarial team. This role is responsible for completing Group Collection and Group Commission activities.We are a busy team and look to you to bring your passion and curiosity along with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. If you thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you. What you will be doing:

  • Various Premium Collection and Advisor Payout Tasks, including:
  • Processing transactions on our administration system
  • Working with various departments and resolving customer inquiries
  • Contribute to bank and premium reconciliations and Accounting Journal entries
  • Advisor payout processing
  • Supporting workload management for overall Group Finance team

What you will bring:

  • Post secondary education with a focus on Accounting/Finance or Mathematics
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self motivated drive that strives for continuous improvement
  • Minimum 2 years of collections, commissions payout, journal entry processing related insurance industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of process improvement
  • Ability to prepare MS Excel based numeric reconciliations and Pivot tables
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
