The Role

As a Group Benefits & Retirement Consultant, you will play a critical role in servicing and growing an established portfolio of corporate clients. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong client-service focus, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for delivering tailored benefits and retirement solutions.

While the primary focus (80%) is on maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients, a key aspect of the role involves identifying and capitalizing on business development opportunities within the firm's client network and your own professional connections.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Consultative Client Advising – Assess corporate clients' group benefits and retirement needs, providing strategic guidance and customized solutions that align with their long-term objectives.
  2. Plan Management & Renewals – Oversee the annual renewal process, delivering detailed analysis, clear recommendations, and proactive communication to support informed client decisions.
  3. Implementation & Onboarding – Lead the transition process for new benefits and retirement programs, ensuring a seamless experience and fostering confidence from day one.
  4. Client Engagement & Retention – Cultivate long-term client relationships through proactive outreach, expert insights, and ongoing plan optimizations.
  5. Responsive Support & Problem-Solving – Act as a trusted advisor for clients, addressing inquiries and adjustments with professionalism and efficiency.
  6. Regulatory & Compliance Expertise – Ensure all plans adhere to provincial regulations and industry best practices, maintaining the firm’s reputation for integrity and excellence.
  7. Education & Communication – Develop and deliver informative sessions for clients, empowering them to make well-informed decisions about their benefits and retirement programs.
  8. Market Intelligence & Business Growth – Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for enhanced solutions and strategic cross-selling within the existing client base.
  9. CRM & Data Management – Maintain detailed records of client interactions, plan specifications, and key performance metrics to ensure seamless service and ongoing client satisfaction.
What You Bring
  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in group benefits and retirement advising, with at least 2-3 years on the brokerage side.
  2. A valid life insurance license and industry designations (GBA, RPA, or CEBS preferred).
  3. A strong track record in client relationship management and consultative advising.
  4. An entrepreneurial mindset with proven business development success.
  5. Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage and educate clients effectively.
  6. A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  7. Proficiency with industry software and CRM systems.
  8. A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to client service and problem-solving.
