Job Opening: Group Benefits Claims Lead

Our client is seeking a Group Benefits Claims Lead to join their team. This role involves designing and optimizing the claims process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional service to members and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver and decision maker, with a client-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in evaluating a new claims adjudication partner.
  • Contribute to the development of the new administration system.
  • Lead a claims management team, fostering collaboration and prioritizing accuracy, efficiency, and engagement.
  • Implement workflows for timely and compliant claims processing.
  • Support ongoing training and development for the team.
  • Maintain a client service culture, motivating the team to deliver the best claims experience in Canada.
  • Conduct claim file reviews and performance assessments to identify trends and optimize processes.
  • Handle disputes and escalations effectively, working with claimants and plan sponsors to find fair resolutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in group benefits claims management, with team leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of group benefits insurance experience, with deep knowledge of claims processing and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Customer Service Software.
  • Insurance designation (e.g., LOMA, CEBS GBA, ICA) is an asset.
