Job description

With over 50 years of expertise in rail yard terminalservices, MacCosham Inc. is a trusted name in the industry. We specialize inmanaging various yard configurations and offer a wide range of services,including rail intermodal terminal operations, container and chassis repairdepots, mechanical services, welding, and associated repair services.

Position Available: Groundsperson/Labourer (Full-Time,Permanent)

Location: Calgary, AB

Role Responsibilities:

·Conductpre-trips on heated and refrigerated containers, following customerinstructions and accurately reporting fuel and temperature readings.

·Performinventory checks using specialized software (Oasis).

·Completeand document pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets.

·Inspectall equipment interchanged by rail at the terminal for damages/defects.

·Carefullyhandle IBCs (inter box connectors) on railcars, including unlocking/lockingcontainers.

·Operateservice vehicles in tight areas within the terminal.

·Undertakephysical duties as required, such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbingon railcars.

·Adhereto all safety procedures and regulations.

·Performany additional tasks as required by the role.

• Apply, remove, andassist with the identification of Blue Signal and derail track protection.

Qualifications:

·ValidClass 5 Driver's License.

·Abilityto work on a rotating 2-week, 12-hour shift schedule, (nights)

·Comfortableworking outdoors in all weather conditions.

·Clearcommunication skills in English, especially over the radio.

·Steeltoe boots with a minimum 8" rise and no exemptions from PPE requirements of hard hats, high visibility vests, and safety glasses.

·Basiccomputer skills and proficiency with iPads.

·Capableof working under minimal supervision.

·Demonstratedsafe and efficient workplace practices.

·Strongteam player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·Abilityto understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

·Attentionto detail and ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75pounds

·Successfulcompletion of a company-paid pre-employment screening test and backgroundcheck.
