Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in Vancouver, BC is recruiting a Groundsperson to support trimming operations and site setup. You will assist climbers and trimmers, help with debris removal and equipment maintenance, and ensure safety on all job sites.

This full-time, year-round role offers ongoing training and career advancement opportunities, an excellent benefits package and RRSP/TFSA program. A valid BC driver’s license and willingness to pursue arborist certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license with 5-ton vehicle capability; air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Willingness to pursue arborist certification.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Landscape/horticulture experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Groundwork support for trimming operations.
• Operate chainsaw and chipper; load brush.
• Assist crew leader with job-site setup, debris removal and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Rake/leaf blow and tidy job sites.
• Rig limbs as needed.
