Job description

CAD $27.10 per hour

Overview

Performs electrical, plumbing, carpentry repair and maintenance duties, preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment, and groundskeeping tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Electrical repairs: installing/replacing ballasts, switches, receptacles, light bulbs, cleaning and lubricating motors.
• Equipment maintenance: servicing wheelchairs, beds, stretchers, carts, engines, washers, dryers, ice machines, and motors.
• Carpentry: repairing walls, ceilings, doors, replacing flooring, hardware, mounting noticeboards, locks, and constructing shelves.
• Painting: surface preparation and applying finishes.
• Plumbing: repairing/replacing fixtures, unblocking sewer lines.
• Clean-up duties: machinery, work areas, fan filters, and fan intakes.
• Medical gas cylinders: exchange as required.
• Grounds maintenance: operating equipment, digging, pruning, garbage collection, roof and gutter cleaning.
• Winter maintenance: snow and ice removal, operating tractors, applying salt and sand.
• Other duties as assigned.

Grade 10 plus two years' recent related experience or equivalent.
