The Glencoe Club is seeking a Full Time Groundskeeper to join our Front-Line Team, delivering exceptional service and maintaining world-class grounds and facilities. This hands-on role involves maintaining indoor and outdoor plants, lawns, and trees; managing seasonal displays; performing light repairs and indoor maintenance; operating equipment such as a Zamboni and skid steer; and assisting with snow removal and general upkeep. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that enhances the member experience year-round.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service and foster a welcoming, positive environment for all members and guests
  • Facilitate clear, timely, and effective two-way communication between members, staff, contractors, and club leadership
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the care and maintenance of all exterior spaces including patios, pool decks and indoor plant arrangements, working independently or collaboratively based on seasonal needs and assigned projects
  • Support the onboarding and training of new and seasonal staff, while contributing to the ongoing development of current team members
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances, including snow and ice removal during winter months
  • Collaborate with ice attendants and the maintenance team to ensure optimal ice surface conditions, including Zamboni operation and general facility upkeep
  • Perform additional duties and special assignments as required to support overall club operations
Qualifications

  • A proven track record, with minimum of 3 years’ experience in gardening and building maintenance; horticulturist certification considered an asset
  • Experience with building operations, including support for sport-related facilities, is a valuable asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels
  • Proven team player with the ability to plan, organize, and actively contribute to the delivery of high-quality horticultural services while upholding and enhancing Glencoe standards; collaborates effectively across multiple departments
  • Demonstrates professionalism with high ethical standards, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of work
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and consistency in both planning and execution

Additional Details

This is a Full Time position that reports to the Operations Manager. The successful applicant must have flexible availability. Exceptions to this schedule are for occasional night work and on-call rotation.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
