Job description

Calling all garden and landscaping enthusiasts who enjoy working outdoors! In partnership with Clark County, we’re seeking passionate individuals to join the grounds maintenance team.

LOCATION: Vancouver, WA

SALARY: $19.01

SCHEDULE: 30-40 hrs/week, Tuesday through Saturday 6:30 am - 3 pm, Temporary (5-6 months)

INDUSTRY: Government

THE ROLE

As an integral member of this tight-knit team, you will support the team’s mission to maintain the upkeep of Clark County’s parks. Your comfort working outdoors, interest in gaining experience working for local government, and dependable and prompt attendance are needed to succeed in this role! Proof of a valid driver's license, auto insurance, background check, and drug screen are required upon acceptance of a job offer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain lawn and plant beds
  2. Lawn mowing, hedge trimming, pressure washing, leaf blowing
  3. Empty garbage cans, pick up litter and keep the facilities clean and clear of debris
  4. Ensure restrooms are cleaned and stocked
  5. Load and unload materials from work trucks

SKILLS AND MUST-HAVES

  1. Comfort working outside rain or shine
  2. Experience operating push and riding lawn mowers
  3. Experience in a grounds maintenance, landscaping, or gardening position
  4. Irrigation installation/repair experience is a plus
  5. Commitment to working with safety as a top priority
