Join Our Community as a Grounds Maintenance Seasonal Labourer

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Seasonal Labourer to work in Scugog, ON on a Fixed-Term Contract from ASAP to October 31, 2025. The role involves working Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with landscaping tasks such as spreading topsoil, planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees
  • Maintain lawns and gardens by mowing, watering, weeding, pruning, and performing related duties
  • Operate landscape maintenance equipment including mowers, tractors, and power tools
  • Support grounds maintenance during community events like the Annual Pow-Wow and other activities
  • Prepare grounds for events and assist with indoor setup as needed
  • Perform equipment maintenance and report issues
  • Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned
  • Work at heights, lift heavy objects, and work in extreme temperatures as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least ½ year of grounds maintenance experience; 1 year preferred
  • Grade 10 education preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and $1M liability insurance preferred
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and community dynamics is an asset
  • First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS certifications are assets
  • CPIC/VSS clearance or equivalent is required upon conditional offer
