Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Groundsperson in Colborne, Ontario to support trimming operations and site setup while assisting climbers and trimmers.

This on-site role emphasizes safety, learning, and career growth within a respected arboriculture company. The position offers year-round, full-time work with pay between $18 and $22 per hour, plus training and opportunities for advancement, a comprehensive benefits package, RRSP/TFSA program, and stock purchase after six

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license and ability to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Willingness to pursue arborist certification over time.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Landscape/horticulture experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work safely in a team and learn/progress.

Position Overview

As a Groundsperson you will be working to support the operations above; you will play an important part in both site set up and assistance to both climbers and trimmers. This role will provide newcomers to the tree industry with a better understanding of what we do at Davey and provide the right individuals with a career advancement opportunities and training.

• Groundwork support for trimming operations.
• Chainsaw and Chipper operation/loading brush.
• Assist Crew leader in job- site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
• Abide by industry safety policies and procedures.
• Raking up/ leaf blowing job sites.
• Rigging down limbs.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
• Willingness to work towards becoming a certified arborist.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Previous landscape/horticulture experience considered an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.

Additional Information

• Full time. Year-round employment.
• $18-$22/hour. Wage will be determined based on education, experience, and relevant qualifications or certifications.
