Air Canada is presently looking for a dynamic individual to fill a permanent full-time position as a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic.

Responsibilities
- Provide safe preventative and repair maintenance to a wide variety of equipment used within airports ground operations in accordance with all applicable regulations and codes
- Knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines. Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, metal fabrication and welding would be an asset
- Candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
- Individuals need to be "team players" with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment

Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Must have CPA Card: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level Mechanic
- Must hold a valid provincial license/endorsement as an Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Duty, and/or Truck and Coach, as recognized by the applicable provincial authority or the Red Seal Program
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the trade
- Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
- Air Canada medical standards must be met to qualify for the role; candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made; seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations is the candidate's responsibility
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Assets (Preferred)
- Inter-Provincial Red Seal preferred, but not required
- Advanced Fuel Injection & Diesel Engine Tune-Up certificates/licenses
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificates/licenses
- Propane Fuel Systems certificates/licenses
- Automotive Inspection certificate/licenses
- Experience maintaining mobile ground power (generators), air conditioners (up to 110 ton), air start units (compressors up to 250 cfm); experience in Farm or Heavy Industrial equipment also considered
- Current security clearance
