Job summary

PAL Airlines in Montreal is seeking an experienced Ground Operations Manager to lead all day-to-day airport operations at our Montréal base. You will manage passenger services, ramp, baggage handling, and vendor performance while ensuring safe, compliant, and timely operations.

Collaborate with Flight Ops, Maintenance, and Systems Control to support aircraft movement and customer service excellence. The role requires 5+ years in airport operations leadership, strong safety management knowledge,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in airport operations, aviation, transportation, logistics, or related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of airport ground operations, customer service, and safety management principles.
• Experience leading unionized and non-unionized teams is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with operational reporting and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day ground operations at Montréal base, including passenger services, ramp operations, baggage handling, and vendor performance.
• Ensure flights are supported safely, efficiently, and in accordance with schedules and standards.
• Monitor station performance and implement initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and on-time performance.
• Collaborate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, System Operations Control, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Transport Canada and other regulations.
• Establish work schedules and procedures for tow and commissary teams and coordinate activities with other departments.
• Produce and verify towing staff time sheets.
• Foster a safety culture through PAL Airlines' SMS and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct station audits, inspections, and corrective actions as required.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, and development of frontline leaders and staff.
• Manage performance, attendance, training, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Balance customer satisfaction with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present station performance reports and recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with airport authorities, regulators, and partners.
