Executive Aviation is excited to announce that we are looking for Ground Handler Leads for our Nanaimo Airport Below the Wing team. This person will help in providing hands-on leadership and coverage for each flight. You will be providing a great example to our Ground Operations team on how to safely and successfully work with aircraft. We are looking for a hard worker, dynamic problem solver, progressive thinker, and someone who has the proven ability to create efficiencies in the operation.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Become the person of accountability for each arrival and departure
• Lead ground handling operation on a daily basis
• Meet frequently with Ground Ops Manager to review operational and personal performance
• Ensure all agents are briefed on their anticipated roles
• Ensure all ground equipment is operational and provide a back-up plan for unserviceable equipment
• Record daily operations for billing/invoicing
• Ensure each airline's procedures are followed in line with the rules and regulations of Transport Canada
• Drive and operate ramp serving equipment, marshal/wing walk aircraft to gate
• Sort, load and offload guest baggage in accordance with load plan, deliver guest baggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor system
• Service aircraft water and lavatories
• Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove/dispose of when found
• Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor
• Groom aircrafts – clean whole cabin, lavatories, restock lavatory with supplies
• De-ice aircraft and record de-ice fluid applications for billing/invoicing and auditing
• Provide daily vehicle inspections
• Other tasks as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year ground handling experience
• All training and read and signs must be current and up to date
• Possess a valid restricted area pass and AVOP (D/A)
• A positive individual with the ability to lead a team
• Have a record of safe working habits and personal on-time performance
• Have displayed great leadership skills, or an interest in learning
• Have successfully completed all required airline training programs
• An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
  • Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada
  • A criminal background check
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, with a clean driver's abstract
