Overview

Grocery Purchaser role with 32 - 40 hours per week. Must be available to work AM / PM, weekdays, and weekends. Regular store hours: Mon – Sat 8:00am – 9:00pm; Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm.

Grocery Purchaser

The Grocery Purchaser is responsible for placing orders with our suppliers to ensure sufficient stock for customers. Decisions about the operation of the department ultimately lie with the Grocery Manager, who leads our Grocery Team alongside our values of local, organic, and sustainable food. You enjoy helping others choose products that suit their health and lifestyle, and you are eager to learn and try new products. You will also help keep shelves stocked and ready by building engaging displays.

What you’ll be doing

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the department and build connections with new and regular customers
• Assist customers with product questions and provide recommendations (training provided)
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, order schedules, customer special orders, and item movement reports
• Know the store layout to identify trending items and ensure adequate stock
• Become proficient with our ordering system and anticipate needs for sales and promotions
• Understand and follow buy-in dates
• Problem solve when issues arise (supplier stockouts, shipping errors, pricing issues)
• Stock shelves throughout the day and maintain accessible product displays
• Create attractive and organized product displays
• Learn about new and featured products from Nature’s Fare materials
• Contribute to a safe, fun, and collaborative team environment
