Job summary

FreshCo in Mission, BC is seeking a Grocery Clerk to carry out the full range of duties with professionalism and accuracy. You will deliver exceptional customer service, stock merchandise, and support store operations while engaging with customers to meet their needs.

Ideal candidates are able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods and perform physical tasks. You must have strong communication skills and be available evenings and weekends to help drive store success.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Evening (after 4pm) and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety and operating procedures and policies.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock according to inventory controls.
• Provide superior customer service to meet needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor, keeping area clean and presentable.
• Prepare customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Grocery Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
