THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN HAMILTON.

CONTRACT UP TO 6 MONTHS.

Role Mandate:

The Grocery, Analyst supports all category objectives by undertaking a wide range of administrative and liaison activities on behalf of the Specialist, and Sr. Merchandising Manager.

Accountabilities:

  • Execute and complete new item set-up process;
  • Execute and complete item discontinuation process;
  • Key all promos in JDA and run integrity reports;
  • Work with Merchandising team to provide promo planning details;
  • Execute all ad changes and perform flyer proofing to ensure proper execution at store level – AD integrity;
  • Conduct post ad performance analysis;
  • Execute cost and retail price changes in templates/systems;
  • Resolve scan log and error code issues;
  • Work with Supply Chain for distribution of replacement products, additions and deletions (changes);
  • Action code-dated items;
  • Track O&As and follow up with BU
  • Run pre-existing reports as well as create Ad Hoc reports and provide analysis upon request from merchandising management;
  • Review prior week’s performance;
  • Review and action gross profit exception report; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role Requirements:

  • Post secondary education or equivalent experience;
  • Proven ability to contribute to category plans in-line with strategies;
  • Ability to gather and synthesize customer and market insight;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills;
  • Intermediate to Advance Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (e-mail).
  • Previous retail experience is preferred;
  • SAP experience would be an asset; and
  • Flexibility to work according to the needs of the business including weekends.
